I hope you're finding ways to cope with our current way of life. I've always been a hand washer, but even my cat looks at me like
what is wrong with you? And she constantly cleans her paws.
I never thought I'd be thinking so much about what I've touched and how many gloves to have with me, when I do have to venture out. I have some cute masks thanks to friends like Marie Coons, Catarina and Mika Inatome. I'm getting used to the suspicious side eye we all give each other in the grocery store.
Some days I'm fine, continue working on projects and catch up on podcasts. Other days, I feel the anxiety, wake up at dawn worrying about the future. I'm fortunate to be healthy, but allergy season throws off my confidence. I feel guilt when I consider the unimaginable suffering that others are feeling. I'm in total awe of our health care workers. I don't know how they're managing. And all the essential workers, from EMTs to grocery clerks to delivery people...
deserve so much respect and a pay hike, too!
This post is an edited version of my Spring / Easter newsletter which I sent out yesterday.

I painted these houses during that 1st week of self quarantine in New York. It felt meditative to paint blocks of color and then draw the details in with pencil.
I really like the result.
I'm thrilled to share that there's a profile on me ((yes, ME))
in Janine Vangool's 2nd Volume of
Little U
The offspring of Uppercase Magazine, it's a beautiful little book.
Volume 1 featured Suzy Ultman with profiles on PSikhouvanjou, Paper & Cloth, Little Pincushion Studio, among other favorites of mine.
Jane Foster is the feature in Vol 2. I look forward to seeing who else in in here.
If all goes as planned, this one will be out in June!

It will be interesting to look back at this time. I really hope we are flattening this curve. New York finally had a couple of slightly promising days.
I hope you've made time for some cat naps!
Go easy on yourself.
I'm trying not to feel bad, if I don't end up creating that masterpiece
or workout every single day
or when I eat some potato chips to make myself feel better.
Cheers to your weekend
alone, with family and/or with your cute pets!
