I hope you're settling into fall with ease. I'm thrilled it's been cooler here in NYC. I haven't posted here, in a while, so this is a look at some work created over the summer. I started the IG 100 day challenge back in spring. I chose to focus on dogs, but I didn't get too far. Fortunately, it's bc I became busy with a couple of commissions and my scenic art work.
I'm just sifting through some favorites now.
In this post, I've used the 'carousel' format, more than a few times - Just click on a pic in scroll to reveal more images.
:: Dogs and flowers :: I love 'em!
More flowers? Yes, I love 'em! I created some of these for Victoria Johnson's class, Explore Florals. I've taken her Create Christmas class, too. I love her briefs and the reference material she shares.
Here, some very new paintings.
This fella is based on a ring (by Les Nereides) I saw in Paris last month. I chose to buy some of their beautiful earrings instead. I couldn't get him out of my mind, so I painted this little scene.
And, I went online and snapped him up (well, not the exact same one, but close :)
I had the opportunity to paint portraits of these four lovely young girls. These made their way all the way to Belgium :)
My Bunny Brand illustration was included in the summer issue of Uppercase, one of my favorite magazines. I really admire everything Janine Vangool does.
It's always fun & flattering to sneak into this magazine, somehow!
And finally, I recently took a wonderful trip with my good friends, one who is not quite a teen! I love Paris and this was my 1st visit to Copenhagen, Denmark. The weather was terrific! It was a gift to escape the humidity and the exhausting political climate here in the US, for a couple of weeks. Europe is dreamy. I realize after returning home, that I should focus on saving money specifically to travel somewhere each year. I often put it off and years pass quickly. After recovering from the travel hangover, I feel rejuvenated and inspired. Of course, I fantasize about living abroad, if only for a few months, one day. I wonder if I could do it. I guess time will tell. If you love seeing other people's travel pics (I actually do) there are more on my IG page.
Hope you don't feel overwhelmed by this glut of images I've just shared ;) I got a little excited. Have a great week!! xo, A
