I grew up in Richmond, Virginia where I inherited a love of animals from my parents. Our pets over the years and my stuffed toys continue to provide inspiration for my characters. I started painting in college and it quickly became my favorite thing to do. Travel, architecture, art and my friends inspire me a great deal. I'm influenced by a wide array of painters and illustrators. 

I moved to NYC for graduate school and never left. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Communication Arts & Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Art Degree from New York University. I love the culture, diversity of people, foods and variety of neighborhoods in New York. I'm particularly fond of where I live in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

With over 10 years experience working as a scenic artist on major film, tv and commercial productions, I've continued to show and sell paintings. In 2003 an art buyer asked me to create murals for his daughter's playroom and a new career blossomed. My business has expanded to include a line of greeting cards, tees and prints.

In addition, I'm currently launching my line of images to license on products, predominantly in the children's market. This includes stationery & paper products, packaging, publishing, games, tableware, bedding, apparel, gift items & wall art. You name it really!

I strive to create charming scenes and characters who delight and engage children and adults alike! Animals play a large part in my work and their stories share aspirations. Wheteher it's Dudley Scooter Dog exploring the 5 boroughs, Katie Koala seeking out Kyle, a bunny curious about Koalas, Space Mouse taking flight or Floaty, hovering inexplicably over his town, it's the loyalty of their friendships and endless optimism that keeps them going, going & going :o)
