Hi! I'm a Brooklyn based painter specializing in custom nursery murals and artwork for children's rooms.  I'm also a proud local 829 scenic artist, working for over a decade on major film, tv and commercial productions. In 2003 an art buyer asked me to create murals for his daughter's playroom and a new career blossomed. My business has since expanded to include sales and commissions of original paintings, prints, greeting cards, tees and pet portraits. My art and designs are all available to license on products in the market. Like many artists who share a love of drawing cute animals and scenes, illustrating children's books is a dream I hope to one day fulfill, too.  I grew up in Richmond, Virginia where I inherited a love of animals from my parents. Our pets over the years, my two bunnies and current cat, Lena provide some of the inspiration for my characters. I started painting in college and it quickly became my favorite thing to do. Travel, architecture, art and my friends inspire me a great deal. I'm influenced by a wide array of painters and illustrators.  I moved to NYC for graduate school and never left. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Communication Arts & Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Art Degree from New York University. I love the culture, diversity of people, foods and variety of neighborhoods in New York. I'm particularly fond of where I live in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.  I strive to create charming scenes and characters to delight and engage children and adults alike! Animals with aspirations, great and small, play a large part in my work.
